I am making final test on a pre-installed rainbow 2.0.  "Pre-installed" rainbow simply means that the SQL Scripts that normaly have to run against your db are already done and you can simply attach the db [ that is in the app_data forlder as an mdf] to ANY sql server 2005.  You can also script it out to any db.  You can always adjust it or run scripts if you want to but at least you will have a default install.  The cool thing is that the team can configure rainbow for certian sets and then distribute that set in tact for user customization.  This comes in handy for rainbow lite as we can give most options preconfigured and all the user has to worry about is managing their portal.  Personally I like the idea of pre-installed rainbow as the first thing you have to do with rainbow is install it anyway.  In future releases, I would like to see an installer that goes and gets the nightly build and pre-installs it.  The user only has to set 2.0 on that directory and browse.  Here is a screen shot of  my pre-installed version.  It has a simple welcome screen and a nice component module example of hello world.
