Concerning Cruise Contrl.NET :

Cruise control can connect to our SVN automatically and make sure build pushed to our SVN actually work [ which we really need].  The client is like 20k and can be easily installed to Widows Systray.  Anyone in the world who wants to be notified on our buid process can simply downlown this small file and get notifications.   CCNET can also maintain a working version at all times so that anyone can always down a working version that passes a build check.  We can also attach nunit test that CCNET can verify and inform us if something fails.  I plan to introduce this in late beta early RC1 as things will be finite then.  In the alpha states , we are always checking things and fixing things that will break the build and send thousands of messages out to peoples cctray hehe.

On membership:
We already have people on master pages + themes.  Between Rahul, myself, MGF team,manu, and Filip [ and of course you jon], we can deploy these easily.

Regarding web part/ personalization:

This is already being tested.  MGF has already deployed web parts and personalization using ASPNETDB within Rainbow :).  I keep pressing him for screen shots :).  However the team informs me that all you have to do is add a usercontrol to a web part zone and boom.  OF course we are busy making a solid professional deployment of webparts.

Performance is talked about in the Developer Forums quite often actually.  The MGF team has about 5-10 developers who change the core code for performance every day.  We are removing ZEN [ or fixing it] for starters which is a big killer on performance.  We are also making a more efficient rewrite of urls for performance.  We are also deploying more efficient db methods.  We are going to do two main options for the core db starting with IBATIS first.  IBATIS is a very efficient db engine as its used with ASP.NET 2.0 to make a site we like to call myspace.  The .cfm's are actually pointers to 2.0 with IBATIS because they just made their conversion.   Also we are going to support multiple dbs [ in future releases] so that you do not have to have a reliance on SQL Server.  However, SQL Server 2005 will have a personal provider that will be using the new sprocs for efficient data retrieval.  Rainbow currently has ok data retrieval with about 300 warnings through the code base.  If we fix all the warnings and consolidate the db code into one dal robust layer;I think we will be fine.  If you personally would like to disucss performance issues, please start discussions in the forums.
