Rainbow Portal Moves to Google Code
Wow do I love Google.
I mean between Gmail, notebook, Google code, Google search, Im pretty
much set. Oh I forgot to mention Gtalk,
Google SpreadSheets, Google analytics, Google writly, Google Images, and Google
webmaster. Wow that’s a lot of Google [stay
tuned for my Google Checkout w/ Rainbow 2.0].
Moving on, well we
finally are settled at Google. We are
going to soon make the Rainbow Portal sourceforge.net site inactive and
concentrate efforts at Google [including the Rainbow 1.1 code]. What about Novell you ask? While Novell has been solid for us, they
have also been down a lot preventing our core team from dev and test. They also don’t have an awesome bug system
like Google does. What Novell does have
is releases and svn extracts which are useful for code distribution to the
community. However, there is a Google
cloud in the sky. They have already of
course addressed this issue and are working on it. We will of course wait for team Google to add
this feature and for now will continue to release on Novell.
You can visit us Rainbow on Google code @ http://code.google.com/p/rainbow/ .
If you would like to help out the core team [we could use
it!], just hit me up on Google. All ya
need is a gmail account and boom you could be on the project. Of course I want to greet you, chat, see what
you want to do and then lets roll.
In the meantime, I invite you to check out the awesome bug
system. Its VERY easy to use (why are
they so good) and the team has already solved some issues affecting the next
release. And yes… a release is
coming. Give us some time hehe it’s a small
core team and we have crazy lives.
