Rainbow Portal Community

I read posts by people talking about modules other than those that come with the package I downloaded, but I never find any download links. I have heard mention of Confluence, and I have looked at it, but it is nothing but blank pages.

Am I missing something?

I am looking for a better forum than the "discussion" module

and a better gallery module beyond the "images" module, although it can work for what I need if there is none better.

Also with the discussion forum / site in general is there a way to setup for users to have a username rather than logging in with their email? Having their email plastered everywhere is going to realy upset alot of people.


And one more, when I setup the portal there were 2 portals "unused portal" and "rainbowportal"

I guess I made a mistake when I deleted the unused one because now I cant access the settings for the other one, theres nothing on the page when I load portal management. So I cant even select it. What should I do for this?

As for a better discussion module you can use YAF (YetAnotherForum.net)

This requires the following:

• Use rainbow 1.5
• Download the Rainbow Portal Module for YAF (here)
• Download YAF 0.9.9 (here as well) (Don't know if the 1.01 Version works as well)
• Modify rainbows web.config like suggested in rainbow.config provided with YAF
• Install Portal Module in Rainbow (Guide found here)

YAF uses the username to identify users and not email.

'Unused portal' is a bit misleading too...I think it's required for the 'Unused Tab' that is used by the Recycler module for 'deleting' modules that might need to be recovered later.
