Hello Rainbow users!! I just wanted to provide some insight in the behind the scenes work by a couple cool People. I personally have been really busy deploying a custom Rainbow 2.0 implementation and getting my Rainbow hosting up and running ( link ). Enough about me and more about Rainbow. A lot of the crew ...

This theme was created for a site we wanted to do a while ago. It is currently internal only but running 1.1. I simply copied the directories over to the 2.0 directories and it worked without a hitch. This shows the ease of using the old theme engine and the new possibilities of App_themes. The screenshot below is of ...

I posted a new photo of two internal straight 2.0 builds. The code is exact to what most 1.1 [ if not better seeing how it was ported very recently] rainbow sites run world wide. Since there are no changes, it makes migration of current 1.1 sites to 2.0 a breeze. Once on 2.0, admins can make the choice to stick with the 2.0 port ...

The cycle will continue until the code is deemed beta [ 85 percent functional at least] and then release level. The phases are a different ...

With revision 133, I committed all my XHTML changes. We can now merge my module with jons code and clean some other stuff up. Of course the modules will need testing but we still have made a lot of progress. Also, the default.aspx / desktopdefault need to me converted. For the full solution, the update and error pages need ...

I have converted all but two modules to XHTML compliant Traditional 1.0. Some modules have also been converted to WSAG and Section 508 compliancy. The most recurring errors were:
- no end tag i.e: an hr tag without a closing /
- hanging tags i.e just a random td tag or footer tag
- no html xmlns declartion i.e all aspx pages ...

In continuing in my new found love of XHTML, I stumbled on to a great article by microsoft that gives away a couple XHTML strict templates. All of the sites show the robust seperation of presentation layer from the application through CSS styles. All these sites are also Section 508 compliant and render crisp validated XHTML. I ...

Alpha 3.0 passes my normal QA test for a release however I am adding XHTML compliancy to modules before I make a formal release. Anyone, however may go download Alpha 3.0 through anon SVN access over at novell. You will have to grab Jons code [ as it is the latest] from his folder : Current Directory: rainbow / sandboxes / ...
