  • ASPNETDB Rainbow 2.0 Update w/ Screenshots

Since Rahul and I have moved into our new home office, its been nothing but business. He has inspired me to start weekly releases for Rainbow 2.0 to not only our private servers but novell as well. These releases will begin once ASPNETDB is solidified and added to our test novell subversion server. This will also allow ...

  • IBATIS w/ Nhibernate : Both 2.0 - Why not both for the core?

The admins and I have been discussing our new cool core and its data store.  In my studying for this, I went and took a look at the lib IBATIS which I keep hearing about [ thank you rahul].  IBATIS allows you to use either raw sql or sprocs to connect to any db thereby forever giving you solid connectivity to [multiple/any]dbs.  Our ...

  • Rainbow 2.0 VS 2005 organization

With our latest Alpha, all solution/VS 2005 extensions point to relative paths.  This allows for quick deployment and development.  The output directories of the core projects refer to the relative paths so no matter where you stick the application it will work.  In my solutions, I add the  website of rainbow [ which is ...

  • For those having trouble with opening Rainbow 2.0 in VS 2005

Scott guthrie has released a second beta of the new web application type.  I am going to test with this new type and see the results and possibly make a new release with it.  Several users have been contacting me that they still get errors when opening the project in VS 2005.  This is becauce we are using the new web application ...

  • Flawless Upgrade[Rainbow 1.6 to Rainbow 2.0]

I just performed a test on our testbed to upgrade our client www.beerpong.tv.  I had no issues at all going from a 1.1 rainbow site to a 2.0 site.  Rainbow simply went to setup first and asked for an upgrade [ I think because I went from a SQL Sever 2000 db into a SQL Server 2005 restore] and completed with 0 errors. Directions to ...

  • Rainbow 2.0 Alpha hits 200 downloads

Today I checked novell and we had 200 downloads on the new Alpha code.  Personally Ive never ported something and had it downloaded that many times so im estatic.  Of course now we need to catch up to Rainbow 1.6's record of over 100,000.  Its wonderful to see all the traffic on the blogs.  Admins are really stepping up and ...

  • My current role|pledge in Rainbow 2.0 Development

I figured I'd display on my blog my current role|pledge to the Rainbow 2.0 community for the next six months. As taken from my pledge to the developers of Rainbow: I am limiting myself to Rainbow 2.0 Architect Admin and Community Admin.  I want to concentrate on improving the core of rainbow 2.0 as well as the develpment staff.  I ...

  • Rainbow 2.0 API System

I have been discussing this in the forums and I think its time to act.  You can find my post here.  I basically start the list of Content API, Membership API, Profile API.  I know a lot of this was started in new genesis and I want to continue that research.  ASP.NET 2.0 is more API based as it has 4000 new apis installed since ...
